Every January, Park City and Salt Lake City light up for the Sundance Film Festival. If you’re thinking of hosting a party, dinner, or corporate event during this time, here’s what to know.
Why Host During Sundance?
Sundance brings filmmakers, talent, and visitors from around the world. It’s a unique moment to host a memorable event—whether a private dinner, a brand activation, or a celebration that taps into the festival energy. The town is buzzing, and the mountain backdrop is at its winter best.
Book Early and Be Flexible
Venues, caterers, and decorators fill up fast for the 10-day festival. Aim to book at least 2–3 months ahead. Be flexible on exact dates and times—midweek and earlier in the week sometimes have more availability than opening weekend. We’ve helped clients pull off last-minute Sundance events, but early planning always makes the experience smoother.
Venues That Work
Park City offers everything from intimate lodges and private homes to hotel ballrooms and pop-up spaces. Consider access and parking (Main Street can be packed), and whether you want a ski-in/ski-out vibe or something closer to the action. Salt Lake City is only 30–40 minutes away and has more large-venue options if you’re hosting a bigger group.
Decor That Fits the Moment
Winter mountain events call for cozy, elevated touches—warm lighting, rich textures, and maybe a statement piece like a balloon installation or floral focal point that photographs well. We can design for the space and the Sundance vibe so your event feels both timely and timeless.
